Our mission is to serve Mat-Su Borough infant and toddlers with gross motor and fine motor delay. We specialize in the most challenging population of children with special needs. Mat-su pediatric physical therapy brings many innovative therapy techniques to improve mobility, including dynamic movement intervention (DMI) and primitive reflex integration. It is our vision to see children reach their full potential and equip families with local resources.
About
Intensive Model
Children are growing at a rapid rate in their first three years of life. Brain development is shown to be most dynamic in these early years. Utilizing a model of intensive therapy exposes a child to a variety of movement strategies in a short amount of time which improves the proliferation of neurological synapses. These new connections result in profound gross motor improvement.
Scheduling
Intensives are scheduled to meet the needs of each child individually. Sessions are scheduled 4-5 days a week at either two 45 minute appointments or one 90 minute appointment. An intensive can last one to three weeks. All scheduling is dynamic to fit the needs of the child and their family. Intensives can be scheduled for PT, OT or a combination of the two.
Regularly scheduled appointments are also available and can be just as valuable in gaining mobility. A variety of treatment techniques will be utilized including DMI therapy.
