Dr. Abigail Ogilbee relocated to Alaska with her husband after attending the University of the Pacific, Stockton California where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She holds a bachelors degree in Public Health Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno where she also taught reformer Pilates and indoor cycling classes.
In Alaska, Abigail developed a physical therapies aquatic therapy program for patients with chronic pain and children with disabilities. After the birth of their third child, born with a rare genetic disorder, a move to central Alaska brought new opportunities. She completed a full term fellowship in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program. Abigail has focused her PT practice in birth to three year olds in early intervention services gaining knowledge in all areas of development.
She has completed coursework in Contemporary Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) for infants and toddlers. Abigail has training in Surestep Orthotics, and level 1 Theratogs fitting certification. She has completed DMI level C coursework intermediate level A (Sept. 2024). All coursework has been instructed by both founders of DMI. Abigail continues mentorship with DMI and sees firsthand the benefit with her own daughter with special needs.
Abigail is an active volunteer in youth and children’s ministry at her local church. She serves as a parent mentor, presenter, and writer for the Prader-Willi Association, USA and continues to volunteer for the LEND program in family support and education. Her passion to help children grow into their strengths and equip families is even more evident as she opens Mat-Su Pediatric Physical Therapy.
Originally from North Dakota, Anna Bennett graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND in 2018 with her Master of Occupational Therapy degree.
Anna moved to Alaska as a travel therapist in the fall of 2019. She worked for the Mat-Su School District for 2 years, working in a variety of classrooms with students of all ages. She then transitioned to the outpatient setting, where she started a pediatric program in Wasilla. She thrives working in the pediatric setting and cannot imagine doing anything else for a career!
Anna has recently completed continuing education for reflex integration – specifically a course from Karen Pryor, DPT and MNRI (Masgatova Neurosensorimotor Integration Method). She has a special interest in treating neurodivergent children (including, but not limited to Autism, ADHD, and sensory differences). Her goal of treatment is to make a positive and lasting impact on those she interacts with, assist children and families to realize their potential and maximize independence through success in daily routines and activities.
Anna brings a high level of positivity and care for each child she works with and is skilled in changing the demands of a task to highlight the abilities of a child. She loves and sees the value in collaboration with other disciplines and knows the benefit of co-treating to effectively assist children and their unique needs. When she’s not working, Anna enjoys spending time outside with her husband, yellow lab named Otter, and her baby daughter. She is excited to join the team at Mat-Su Peds!
